about the author. DAVID HARBORNE

HI, I’M DAVID

A coach and author who asks powerful questions to understand how we can redesign our lives for the better. I believe there’s no single solution for becoming more fulfilled and living a life of purpose; when we know ourselves better and what works for us, we can make better decisions and live a life we choose.

Charting Your Life's Journey with Purpose

In a world constantly in motion, it's easy to get caught in the currents of life's day-to-day demands. We often forget to pause and ponder about the paths we are carving for ourselves. This is precisely why I, David Harborne, life redesign coach, bring to you a heart-to-heart conversation in my latest podcast episode, "The Future You: Redefining Life's Path."

As I recently found myself in a reflective mood following a conversation with my father about his health, I was reminded of the impermanence of life. This realisation led me to a profound question: If we knew our time here was limited, how would we choose to live

The Power of Vision

"Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans." This quote by Allen Saunders eloquently encapsulates the essence of our daily grind. We plan, we work, but often, we forget to live. This episode is not just about recognising life's finite nature; it's about actively shaping it with intention and purpose.

The Three-Year Window

Drawing inspiration from the book "Vivid Visions," I advocate for a three-year vision plan. Why three years? It's a realistic timeframe that's close enough to feel tangible yet distant enough to allow for significant personal growth and development. This episode guides you through the process of envisioning your life three years from now. It's not about grand, unattainable dreams, but about achievable, meaningful changes that resonate with your core values.

The Future You

Imagine stepping into a time machine and meeting yourself three years from now. Who is this person? What have they achieved? What makes them smile every morning? This exercise isn't just a daydream; it's a roadmap to your future self.

Living Beyond the Rut

Many of us are caught in a 'rut', a comfortable yet limiting routine. In my personal anecdote about my daily motorbike rides, I challenge myself and you, the listener, to break free from these patterns. It's about finding new paths, new adventures, and new ways to grow.

The Process of Writing Your Vision

The podcast doesn't just leave you with questions; it offers a way forward. I encourage you to sit down and write about the life you want. This isn't a quick exercise; it's a deep dive into your aspirations, goals, and values. It's about writing your story, three years from now, with as much detail and clarity as possible.
